Instincts
Une journée ordinaire, printanière avec un avant goût d’été. Un nourrisson de 8 mois, tout mignon, comme il en existe par millier.
Il dort paisiblement ignorant le drame qui se tisse insidieusement pendant que Morphée anime ses rêves. Il se réveille, ouvre ses yeux ronds, reconnaît un endroit familier, cherche du regard sa mère mais il ne la trouve pas. Il pleure. Rien. Aucune réaction. Point de visage maternel rassurant. Il crie encore plus fort. Rien. Le néant absolu dans un environnement familier bien connu, clos. Il pleure, il a faim, il a soif, il a chaud. Personne à son écoute. Personne pour s’occuper de lui. Il pleure et crie encore. Il a chaud, très chaud. Bien vite ses cris font place à un silence lugubre, glacial. Ses mouvements se font rares. Ses billes de verre restent ouvertes à la recherche d’une main tendue. Son cœur accélère la cadence…son flux sanguin se concentre au cerveau…stratégie physiologique de survie implacable, efficace mais limitée dans le temps. Combien de temps son calvaire va-t-il durer ?….1 heure, deux heures, trois ?…non sept heures.
Elle revient enfin. Effondrée, elle le retrouve hagard, les yeux vides, blême, le souffle haletant tel un chien qui agite la langue rapidement pour se refroidir les jours d’été. Les secours arrivent. Il est inconscient. Les sapeurs pompiers tentent de le refroidir un peu avec quelques serviettes humides, essaient de le faire boire et demandent un renfort médical.
J’arrive. Il est dans un état pré-mortem, les yeux sans vie même si son cœur bat encore très vite, il ne tiendra plus longtemps. Ses veines sont plates, impiquables. Les yeux cernés. Déshydraté. Un trocard dans le tibia. Du sérum salé poussé rapidement à la seringue. Ses veines se gonflent, son cœur ralentit, ses joues se recolorent, ses yeux renaissent et pétillent de l’étincelle de vie, ses membres bougent…et de son silence jaillit un cri, des pleurs et des larmes. Il la revoit…et il sourit. Elle venait juste de l’oublier dans sa voiture pendant sept heures en plein soleil.
L’instinct de survie supplante en tout point l’instinct maternel auquel je ne crois pas trop…

Je pense que l’instinct dit “maternel” est juste une variante de l’instinct de survie (techniquement la progéniture représente la génération suivante de l’espèce. Bref, une mère sauve son petit sans doute par instinct de survie de l’espèce et pas forcement par instinct maternel.) C’est sans doute pour ça qu’il est vachement plus présent chez certains animaux que chez l’homme. Le cas des éléphants et des ours est parfois assez troublant. Cela dit l’instinct de survie de l’être humain étant particulièrement insaisissable (génocides, guerres, suicides…) il parait logique qu’il en soit de même pour l’instinct maternel à mon avis purement moral.
… j’espère que la PMI va garder un oeil sur cette femme… on a tous droit à l’erreur, enfermer le chat entre la porte fenêtre et le volet, oublier le chien dans la voiture 1h00 mais un bébé pendant 7h00… j’en reste abasourdis!
