Pas simple d’arborer ce nouveau statut d’étudiante lorsque ses camarades d’aventure exhibent une jeunesse tellement insolente qu’ils n’ont pas pu pleurer de joie devant LE concert de Supertramp de 1982…, lorsque ses « juges » ont le même âge qu’elle et ne comprennent pas son désir de réaliser son rêve !
Passé les doutes et les interrogations, B. s’arma de patience. Sa maturité, faiblesse pour les ignorants qui ne croyaient pas en elle, se révéla être une force. Perfectionniste, désireuse de comprendre ses gestes plutôt que de les exécuter de façon robotique (comme c’est souvent le cas avec les plus jeunes), têtue, combattante généreuse au cœur tendre, quoi de mieux que d’appréhender son métier, voué à la santé des personnes fragiles, sous un autre angle : l’expérience de la vie ?
La tâche fut ardue. Suivre son étoile n’est pas forcément la panacée. Mais B. a franchi tous les obstacles, haut la main.
Hier nous avons bu le verre de SA victoire, arrosé son nouveau diplôme et accueilli les bras ouverts, avec fierté, sa nouvelle vie…sa vocation accomplie…être au service de la vie. A quelques années d’écart, à force de conviction, B. va retrouver la tenue qu’elle portait enfant. Ce n’est plus un rêve.
B. est infirmière depuis hier.
